Although only starting in January 2006 there are many years of practical experience behind our young company.

Lynn owned and ran an award winning Delicatessen in the centre of York and, making many of her own product,s she was acclaimed a “Rick Stein Food Hero”. She also steered the Deli to Observer Food Magazine’s “Best Deli In Yorkshire and Humberside” and runner up in the “UK Independent Retailer of the Year” and the Independent Magazine’s “Top Ten Hampers in the UK”. This year we have been shortlisted in both the Scottish Food and Drink Excellence Awards and the Highlands and Islands Food Awards.

Lynn’s expertise in creating new tastes and exciting new products has ensured  Henshelwoods are causing a sensation in fine food retailing. “We have not had anything really new in our market for years and Henshelwoods products are really filling a gap.” A typical quote from an independent retailer.

I assisted in the background with the Deli but now full time in the new business and with decades of experience in sales, marketing and management have enjoyed designing the packaging with a modern look and marketing the company. I also regularly visit suppliers to ensure our ingredients are the best available.

As experienced Deli owners, Henshelwoods recognise that independent retailers need innovative products with eye-catching shelf appeal. Independent retailers also need to fulfil their customers' demands for exciting, tasty foods free of artificial additives and low on food miles.
